The upgraded Quick Share is perhaps one of the most disruptive features Google has introduced in recent years. Adding cross-platform compatibility with AirDrop allows Android and Apple users to transfer files directly and wirelessly, something that was previously limited to within each ecosystem.

After debuting on the Pixel 10 series, Google hinted at plans to bring it to earlier Pixel models. There were also strong indications that non-Pixel devices would eventually get it, including from brands like OnePlus. Samsung has now followed suit, officially announcing that the Galaxy S26 (review), Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are the first Galaxy phones to enjoy the upgraded Quick Share with AirDrop support.

More Non-Pixel Phones Get Quick Share with AirDrop

According to the South Korean giant, the rollout begins today in South Korea, followed by the USA later this week. Samsung also confirmed it will expand to more countries and regions, including Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, and most of Southeast Asia.

In addition to the Galaxy S26 series, the company said more Galaxy devices will receive the enhanced Quick Share feature in the future, though it did not specify exact dates or models yet.

How to Use Quick Share with AirDrop on Samsung Galaxy

Enabling Quick Share with AirDrop support on a Samsung Galaxy requires just one key toggle. This differs slightly from Google’s version, which mainly involves turning on discovery for “anyone” nearby. Still, it is straightforward.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Connected devices.
  3. Select Quick Share.
  4. Tap Share with Apple devices.
  5. Toggle it on to start using the feature.

When sharing files, ensure your device is set to be visible to others. Similarly, on an Apple device like an iPhone or MacBook, AirDrop should be enabled and set to “Everyone” before sending or receiving from a Samsung device.
