When women ask for more, they pay for it

Research shows women negotiate and advocate for themselves as often as men do—but they’re more likely to face backlash when they do.

When Anna, a 32-year-old IT professional, started her first job, it wasn’t long before she found herself facing a bad case of job creep. “They said, ‘Hey, can you do this other thing too for a little bit?
